PAGE ONE / SIX PANELS

PANEL ONE:
We open on a tight shot of wood sitting on a chopping block (tree stump).

PANEL TWO:
Same shot as previous panel as an axe splits the wood in two.
(1) SFX: CRACK!

PANEL THREE:
Pull back to reveal ADAM holding an axe.
ADAM is a man in his early twenties.  His build is slender and unremarkable.  His dirty blonde hair is short but messy and his eyes are big and brown.  His features are soft, complimenting his boyish good looks.
ADAM is standing in a small clearing near a cottage.  It is surrounded by forest, lush and green with tall grass and trees over a hundred years old.  Past the cottage is a small dirt road.

PANEL FOUR:
Cut to a close-up of ADAM as he hears singing from deep in the woods.
(2) SFX: >singing<

PANEL FIVE:
ADAM burries the axe into the chopping block.
(3) SFX: THUNK!
(4) SFX: >singing<

PANEL SIX:
Keeping the axe in the foreground, we watch ADAM as he follows the singing into the woods.
(5) SFX: >singing<

PAGE TWO / THREE PANELS

PANEL ONE:
We see ADAM making his way through the woods, not quite sure where it is he is going.  But the singing is getting louder.
(1) SFX: >singing<

PANEL TWO:
ADAM pushes some foliage aside to reveal a gully ib the middle of the forest.
(2) SFX: >singing<

PANEL THREE:
This panel should take up most of the page.
The sides of the gully are nearly six feet tall and quite steep, standing about fifteen feet apart.  A few weeds sprout up here and there in the dirt.  The floor of the gully is mostly rocks and a small running creek which looks to get bigger in the winter months.
In the middle of the gully, sitting on one of the larger rocks, we find a female ELF.
(3) SFX: >singing<

PAGE THREE / SEVEN PANELS

PANEL ONE:
Cut to a tighter shot of the ELF.  Really play up her beauty.
(1) SFX: >singing<

PANEL TWO:
Tighten the shot to a close-up of the ELF.
(2) SFX: >singing<

PANEL THREE:
Flip to a close-up of ADAM watching from the foliage.  Eyes wide and jaw slack, he is clearly affected by this woman.
(3) SFX: >singing<

PANEL FOUR:
ADAM steps into the clearing, slipping on some rocks.
(4) SFX: >singing<
(5) SFX: clack

PANEL FIVE:
The ELF is startled by ADAM.

PANEL SIX:
The ELF runs off into the woods.
(6) ADAM: Wait!

PANEL SEVEN:
ADAM stands alone in the gully.
(7) ADAM: wait

PAGE FOUR / SIX PANELS

PANEL ONE:
Cut to the cottage.  Inside we find ADAM sitting at a small table.  An older woman (mother or grandmother possibly) is bringing dinner to the table.
Though it looks like a good meal, ADAM doesn’t seem to be too hungry.  If anything, he seems distracted as he mindlessly sketches on a piece of paper.
(1) OLDER WOMAN: Did you finish your chores this afternoon?

PANEL TWO:
Looking over his shoulder, we see that the drawing is of the ELF.
(2) OLDER WOMAN: ADAM?
(3) SFX:        >humming<

PANEL THREE:
ADAM lays sleepless in his bed, thinking only of her.  He continues to hum that song.
(4) SFX: >humming<

PANEL FOUR:
ADAM rolls over onto his side to look at the drawing.
(5) SFX: >humming<

PANEL FIVE:
We look from ADAM’S perspective as he reaches out toward the drawing with his hand.
(6) SFX: >humming<

PANEL SIX:
Up with the dawn, ADAM heads back toward the woods.
(7) SFX: >humming<

PAGE FIVE / SEVEN PANELS

PANEL ONE:
Back in the gully, we find the ELF has returned.  Once again perched upon one of the larger rocks and singing her song (elfin mating call, in case you have not guessed).
(1) SFX: >singing<

PANEL TWO:
Go to a wide, overhead shot.  ADAM is moving along one of the embankments, trying to get closer to her.
(2) SFX: >singing<

PANEL THREE:
ADAM settles in a spot near the edge of the foliage.
(3) SFX: >singing<

PANEL FOUR:
He waits and watches the ELF with longing.
(4) SFX: >singing<

PANEL FIVE:
The ELF stops singing and looks back over her shoulder.
(5) SFX: >singing<-

PANEL SIX:
Cut to a tight shot of ADAM, surprised by what he sees.

PANEL SEVEN:
Another elf, a MALE ELF has come into view.  He is perched up on a thick tree branch near the trunk.

PAGE SIX / SEVEN PANELS

PANEL ONE:
The MALE ELF drops down from the tree branch, into the gully.  His feet splash in the creek as he lands in a crouched position.

PANEL TWO:
The MALE ELF rises to his feet.  She waits for him.  Her body language is submissive and alluring.

PANEL THREE:
ADAM watches in horror as his love finds another.

PANEL FOUR:
The elves come together.  She reaches out a timid hand toward his torso.

PANEL FIVE:
He grabs her arms near the elbows, pulling her close.  She looks up at him with her hands on his chest.

PANEL SIX:
ADAM is heartbroken.  His legs give out and he falls backwards, flat on his ass.

PANEL SEVEN:
Go to a tight shot of ADAM’S hand as it finds a rock.

PAGE SEVEN / SIX PANELS

PANEL ONE:
Cut to a close-up of the MALE ELF.  His eyes are soft and loving as he looks down at her.

PANEL TWO:
Repeat previous panel.  The MALE ELF goes rigid.  His expression suddenly turns to shock.
(1) SFX: THUNK!

PANEL THREE:
The MALE ELF drops with blood pouring from his head.  The female ELF tries to hold him up, but he is too heavy.

PANEL FOUR:
The female ELF looks horrified, kneeling down over the MALE ELF.  We see a bloody rock in foreground, gripped in ADAM’S hand.

PANEL FIVE:
ADAM stares at the dead MALE ELF, breathing heavy.

PANEL SIX:
He turns his attention to her.

PAGE EIGHT / EIGHT PANELS

PANEL ONE:
ADAM walks toward the ELF as she rises to her feet, and tries to back away.

PANEL TWO:
ADAM reaches out, grabbing her arms just below the shoulder.

PANEL THREE:
ADAM pulls her close.  The ELF is angry and scared, trying to resist ADAM.

PANEL FOUR:
Cut to a tight shot of ADAM.  He looks surprised.
(1) ADAM: nngh!

PANEL FIVE:
ADAM falls backwards with obsidian dagger buried in his chest.

PANEL SIX:
ADAM hits the dirt.  The dagger still buried square in his chest as blood spurts up from his mouth with each breath.
(2) ADAM: hulgh!  kack!

PANEL SEVEN:
The ELF kneels down next to the MALE ELF.  Her right hand covered in ADAM’s blood.

PANEL EIGHT:
We see blood swirling around in the water.
This is the script from my Low Orbit story (in stores now). It was illustrated by the very talented Allison Strom ([link]) who did an amazing job.

Enjoy.
